What Gumroad costs
Gumroad is one of the oldest and best-known ways to sell digital products. You upload a file, get a hosted product page and a checkout, and Gumroad takes a percentage of each sale instead of charging a subscription. That model is deliberately friction-free to start with, and it is why Gumroad remains the default recommendation for someone selling their first ebook or template.
Sales made through Gumroad's Discover marketplace are charged 30% instead.

Gumroad takes
10% + $0.50 per direct sale
Monthly: None
Komerza takes
0% on every plan
No payout, dispute, affiliate or fraud-tooling fees on any plan
Built for scale
Built for everyone. Engineered for the top end.
Globally, Komerza sellers do over €2 million a month, and the largest single stores clear over €200,000 a month. There is no product cap, no team cap and no revenue ceiling on any plan, so the store you start with is the store you scale, without a migration in the middle.
Where Gumroad stops
Gumroad is where a great many sellers start, and a percentage is painless at that size. It is also why you rarely see a large store on it: at scale, 10% of everything is the single biggest line in the budget, and unlike a plan it never stops growing. Komerza's largest stores clear over €200,000 a month and pay the same flat plan they started on.
What it costs you
A percentage and a flat monthly fee cross over at some point, and where that point falls depends entirely on your numbers. Put your own in and see what Gumroad and Komerza each cost at that volume.

When Gumroad is the better choice
- You are selling occasionally. A percentage of very little is less than any subscription, so at a handful of sales a month Gumroad costs you less.
- You want an audience you did not build. Gumroad Discover puts products in front of existing buyers; Komerza has no marketplace and expects you to bring your own traffic.
- You want the shortest possible path from file to link, with no store to design and no plan to choose.
When to switch to Komerza
- Your volume has grown enough that a percentage costs more than a flat monthly plan. Past that point every extra sale on Komerza is free, and on a percentage model it never is.
- You need payment methods beyond cards and PayPal: Apple Pay, Cash App, a second processor as failover, or crypto that settles straight to your own wallet.
- You are selling licence keys, game top-ups or Discord access and want delivery, stock and fraud checks handled rather than bolted on.
- You want the storefront to be yours: your domain, your design, an AI builder to draft it, source code you can edit, and a checkout you can embed anywhere.

Watch on YouTubeCommon questions
What people ask when they are weighing Gumroad against Komerza, answered with the same figures as the table above.
Gumroad's pricing page states 10% plus $0.50 on each direct sale, and 30% on sales that come through its Discover marketplace. There is no monthly subscription. Figures verified on 5 September 2026 against gumroad.com/pricing; check there for current rates.
It depends on your monthly revenue and average order value, not on either platform's marketing. Gumroad's cost rises with every sale because it is a percentage; a Komerza plan is a fixed monthly amount however much you sell. Work out 10% of your monthly revenue plus $0.50 per order and compare it with the plan price on our pricing page. Below the crossover Gumroad is cheaper, above it Komerza is, and the gap widens as you grow.
Yes. Products, files and prices are recreated in Komerza's builder and you point your existing links or domain at the new store. Customer records and past orders stay in Gumroad, since neither platform exports the other's transaction history.
No. Every Komerza plan, including the free one, is 0% transaction fees on every order, whether the customer pays by card or crypto. You pay the monthly plan price and nothing else.
